    Hi folks,

I've just received the grade for my final course ("Human Relations in the Workplace") in the Master of Business Administration program at James Cook University, Australia. It's a Distinction. I've also maintained an overall GPA that'll allow me to graduate with Distinction from the MBA program. The graduation ceremony for my cohort will be held on Sep 2008 in JCU Singapore.

Looking back, these last two years of juggling full-time work and a part-time MBA have been one of the most exhausting in my life. But overall, I've grown both intellectually and professionally from the experience. Perhaps in a separate post, I'd like to describe my experiences with doing an offshore Australian MBA program in Malaysia. But in this post, I just want to thank everyone in this forum for being such fine examples of life-long learning to me. You've really inspired me to persevere when I'm in the dumps at several points in the program.

Thanks again. And to everyone who are still wrestling with their MBA coursework: hang in there. You'll look with back with satisfaction later when its all done.

    Hi everyone,

I want to thank all of you - Ted, Dave, Bruce, BlueMason, Eric, Balert & Fortunato - for your congratulations and well wishes.

I will be taking a break from formal studies for the rest of 2008. During this sabbatical, I might want to enroll in a program of biblical/theological studies such as the Master of Religious Studies program offered by Nations University, Louisiana (http://www.nationsu.org/masterofreligiousstudies). One of the areas of my life that had suffered serious neglect during my MBA studies was spiritual development; particular, prayer and bible study. My enrollment in such a program is strictly for personal spiritual development and equipping for lay ministry at my local church. I don't intend to present the credential as a formal ministry/teaching credential.

Come 2009, I plan to apply for enrollment in an Australian DL DBA program. My favorite so far is the Doctor of Business Administration offered by the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Newcastle (http://www.newcastle.edu.au/program/postgraduate/2008/11509.html). The topic for my doctoral research may be drawn from the general area of sustainable enterprise; but that could change later depending on the evolution of my academic interests.

    George,

It sounds like you have it all planned out, so all the best with that.

I will definitely take a year out when my MBA is through, I know what you mean by neglect, I need to spend some (more) quality time with my wife and boy!

How is KL? It's one of the only parts of the world I haven't been to, the closest is China...

    Peace,

    Dave C.
