    Yes, I read it.

What did you think NotJoeBiden was trying to say in his quote from the book?

I no longer remember what it was.
1984 is a warning against tyranny and propaganda—but quoting it doesn’t magically make your narrative the truth.
People sometimes use 1984 references loosely, especially in political debates, to accuse others of manipulation or authoritarian tendencies.
NotJoeBiden was quoting Orwell to criticize how information about war in Gaza is presented, But in this case, it’s Hamas and its supporters who manipulate images, and spread disinformation through sympathetic media outlets.
Israel’s actions, while tragic in the fog of war, are based on defending its civilians against a terrorist group

    Death frees Gazans from famine.
Because the IDF is one of the most moral armies in the world

Gaza: 875 people confirmed dead trying to source food in recent weeks

UN #s are inflated, sourced info from Hamas. Making larger font doesn't make this accusation truthful. The hunger and despair are real, people did die, because of engaging the security forces. Hungry groups of people can be very dangerous, outnumbering the security. Especially if incited by Hamas.
The civilians, who do get aid, are being robbed by Hamas.

Another attempt by Bill to divert the topic from Syria genocide.

To be fair, he's right that the UN is not a credible source in matters relating to Israel.

It seems you are more desperate than usual.

whenever I copy paste article titles it always changes to that font. Sorry, I did forget to change the font size back to normal for the link though. Sorry it upset you so much. There was no nefarious intent.

I’m not sure why Steve is suspicious of UN articles involving Israel but their mediaBiasFactCheck rating is rated as HIGH reliability. They say in the article the death toll numbers were verified.

I wonder why Israel won’t use the UN for food distribution? The current system gets people killed and with only four distribution sites can’t distribute nearly as much food. I guess that explains it! Before Lerner tells the stupid lie about Hamas getting food to sell the old way, the new way does nothing different to prevent Hamas soldiers from collecting food.

MediaBiasFactCheck is useful, but not infallible. There's pervasive anti-Israel sentiment throughout the UN System, but UNRWA in particular is overtly pro-Hamas -- and I don't mean Gaza, I mean Hamas -- as was shown by the material support given to it by UNRWA employees.

I'm not saying Gazans aren't out of food: remember that I was the one who posted the article about IDF soldiers firing on unarmed Gazans who were looking for aid. I'm just saying that if you want persuasive sources, you must look further than the UN.

    Bill, simple question,
Why don't you post Gaza related posts under Gaza discussion threads?
    This is Syria discussion.
It appears you desperately trying to shield the reports of genocide in Syria?
Minorities in Syria being killed in alarming rate.

I don't care nearly as much about genocide in Syria. This is because the USA is not supporting the genocide in Syria. Unlike Gaza, USA bombs and and support of Israel is being used to support genocide in Gaza. I posted the UN article here because it was most related topic at the top of the thread list.

Israel bombed Syria ISIS - most likely with US provided bombs.
As to Gaza, there is no genocide, there is war, that Gaza started, and brought calamity on itself.
Even before Oct 7th, if one asked Gazans, they would clearly say they hate Jews and teach their children to hate Jews.
They celebrated when Oct 7th happened, and took pride in killing Jews, and given opportunity would have murdered all, maybe small % is an exception.
Yet, I'm advocating that civilians shouldn't be harmed. Hamas is causing the whole tragedy.
    Hope war ends soon.

Hospital in Druze City Full of Bodies: "Executed Patients in Their Beds"
    23.7.2025 / 1:48

    Jihadi - ISIS forces terror:

Days after the regime raid on the Central Hospital in Sudida, the stench of death is still everywhere. Body bags fill the parking lot, and the doctors find it difficult to digest what happened: "They're criminals, monsters. They shot everyone.” Descriptions and documentation are difficult to watch

Syrian government forces murdered patients at a Sudida hospital during the clashes last week, employees at the hospital told a BBC reporter who was patrolling the site under a fragile ceasefire that was still guarded.

According to the report, in the parking lot of the city’s main hospital, most of which is Druze, dozens of rotting bodies remain, arranged in rows inside white sacks. Some of the bags were half open, and you could see corrupt and swollen bodies. A severe stench arises from the hospital, and the access road to it is oily and part of blood.

"It was a massacre," said Dr. Wissam Massoud, a neurosurgeon at the hospital. “The soldiers came here on the grounds that they were coming to bring peace, but they killed dozens of patients, from the youngest to the oldest.”

In the hospital, the eight-year-old girl hala Al-Hatib, injured and bandaged, was sitting on a bench next to her aunt. She said that gunmen came and shot her head while hiding in a closet in the house. She still didn't know both her parents had been killed.
