In the wake of a minor (or major, I don't know) controversy that erupted over at Isles International University, there are now at least two, possibly three, Isles out there: IIU (the university formerly known as Irish International University), Isles British International University and Isles French International University, www dot islesfrench dot org. Isles British is run from Morocco while the French version may be linked to an individual currently living in the Kingdom of Jordan. In any event, the people at IIU, the Quality Assurance Commission -QAC - and the Oxford College of Management are not amused.

Oh, I'll just sit back, relax and watch IIU, QAC and OXIM combat fraud. That's what they say it is and they may be experts on fraud, for all I know.

Indeed they may. Good luck to them.

Another part of the chain: Isles Internationale Université (European Union) Ltd. "The International Universities Network for Credit Transfer System." Awards from Professional Certificate through DBA available by passing a comprehensive exam. Judging from the page, I think some of the degrees awarded may likely be from private universities in Costa Rica, well-known to regular DI readers.

That would be the original Indian Malaysian chain, I think, not the more recent Jordanian/Moroccan one.

Anyway, here's something for you Johann: Toronto International Online University, www dot ticareeruniversity dot com, which belongs to the Middle East branch of the Isles and is linked to the people running Central Atlantic University. The old domain toronto-iu dot com has been suspended.

Contentwise, there's not much that distinguishes TIOU from Atlantic International University.

Except one thing. The link to the On Line Learning section does not work. Can't see what they offer. (Why? Because it's still linked to a page on the old cancelled domain.)
They need at least semi-competent web help. Also, here's what I presume is some butt-covering boilerplate: "Toronto International Online University is a Non academic training and e-learning business."
Yet they offer degrees up to Doctorate?

Well, maybe they'll read my post and make their page work - wouldn't be the first time!

Interesting. Can't be a coincidence. These FOUR schools share an identical fairly long blurb about Andragogy and Omniology:

    Toronto International Career University
Atlantic International University - Hawaii (similarities also pointed out by mbwa shenzi)
    Johannesburg City College (S. Africa)
    Online Tuition Pakistan

Wonder where it started - and if there are any connections? Ah -- I could go for DAYS on this. To what end?

Eclectic, if nothing else. Besides the "shared" text on andragogy, Online Tuition Pakistan and its sister school, Al-Saudia Virtual Academy, feature an "unattributed" quote from the late country singer, Jimmy Dean, 1928-2010, also famed for his Jimmy Dean Sausage brand.

Here it is: "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination."

There are something like 20 blogs linked to this site.

Maybe I should ask about their policy on plagiarism.

Atlantic International University in Hawaii? That seems a bit geographically illiterate!

Certainly does. More than a bit. Enough to spark similar comments a few times over the past 14 years. Yes, DI has had threads on AIU Hawaii for that long. Must still be making money. The school, that is.
