My Twin Terrors were 4 years old, so 2005 was filled with Daddy-duty stuff.

Was working on a Government contract project in 2005. One of the best years of my life.

Grinding it out at a couple community colleges part time as an adjunct trying to make ends meet, occasionally doing a little bit of professional consulting. Wife was teaching also, part time. Together making about $20K - $30K a year--try feeding the family on that. Was also going deeper into debt by pursuing another grad degree online (the FAFSA loans for which we're still paying off today). Was still years away from finally making it full time at a university.

In 2005 I was trying to verify the source of a friend/coworker's degree. I even posted about it on an academic forum called "DegreeInfo."

After posting, Levicoff said it was from a degree mill, Douglas said it was from a CA state approved by the BPPVE and had some utility, Bear called it a less-than-wonderful school, and a few posters who had a degree from the same school said the school was on par with any RA school they had ever attended.

I was beat out of a job simply because I didn't have a masters. The person who got it had a diploma-mill masters. Trust me, I was way more qualified.

In a sense, we were all right. It really depends on your perspective.
