Is the IACI a Legitimate Agency?

Does anyone know anything about the IACI (International Academic Correspondence Incorporated)? I went to their website and noticed that they collect a great deal of personal information from the people they want to help. That makes me rather uneasy. Perhaps my worries are unfounded but unless I find out more about them I would be very hesitant to use their services.

 

As far as I know, most, if not all of the US/Canadian people on this board who have enrolled at UNISA have done so through this company. If you look at the old posts on this subject I think you'll see that people have been pleased with the service they receive. As for the security of your personal information, I don't think we can be too careful these days. It's a valid question and should probably be put to IACI directly.

I enrolled to use IACI's service but getting in touch with them or getting responses to my questions has been very difficult. As a matter of fact, I tried contacting them by telephone and I could not get through to them. They did not have an answering machine, either so I could not leave a message.

This raises (in my mind) some concerns with respect to their legitimacy. Has anyone used them recently? What were your impressions of them? Have you exchanged E-mails with Dr. M. Esselen?

Any information on this issues would be highly appreciated.

For what it's worth, I've been in contact with Dr. Esselen within the last few weeks. I haven't spoken to him personally, but his email replies were very prompt. He seemed eager to help.
