Is NCU's delivery format unique?

Are there any other DL MBA programs that offer NCU's mentor-based, self-paced, non-cohort, no residency required delivery format? It appears that NCU is unique in that regard. Thanks.

Then let me add another component to my original question. Are there any other RA schools that are structured like NCU? Thanks.

When I took classes at Touro it was like that - self paced - here is the required work now get it done. They are RA.

CCU was also like that but I was there when they were not yet accreditied.

I did not see anything on the NCU website or in the catalog about SCUPS owning North Central – did I overlook it?

I am not hijacking your thread – if NCU is owned by SCUPS I think it has a bearing on this conversation. I am sorry if you don’t feel that way.

The owner of SCUPS is Dr. Donald Hecht and also Founder, owner and or president (I lost count of all the tittles) of NCU.

You can use the search bottom and you will see for yourself.

    and programs look very similar!

    NCU is self paced but

each course still must be completed within the specified time, which is 12 weeks. Also, one cannot turn in more than one assignment at a time.

Really - You could complete a course as fast as you want with a max of 12 weeks. You can turn in all the assignments if you want. Where did you get this info?

The question wasn't about university ownership, it was about MBA program delivery method. Nothing wrong with the thread originator asking to stick to the subject if the conversation starts to take a different (and irrelevant) direction.

Not being able to turn in one assignment until the prior has been graded has been stated in each of the classes I have been in, it seems to be a stock part of each class syllabus. If there are courses at NCU where this is not the case I have not run across them.

This was the case in the one PhD course I took at NCU.

You are right (but I am sure you knew that). I just found the comment "Learners may submit assignments early, but may not submit the next assignment until they have received a grade on the previous one. Assignments must not be submitted together. .

I never really saw this because the assignments are usually graded within 48 hours and I would not be able to produce a paper every 48-72 hours.

The self-paced nature of the doctoral courses is a unique offering, I believe.

This kills me on classes with a lot of assignments. I am in a marketing class right now that has 12 papers, and the mentor can take up to a week to grade the longer ones (sometimes sooner but usually a week or so). I have 2 more papers and three more weeks to finish the class, it will be close!
