Is NCU a degree mill?

I have been lucky. My chair (current and past) has been very accessible. I used to call my past chair weekly and talk for an hour to an hour and a half about ideas, research, and results. My current chair is just as open but there is just not the need for those conversations. They now focus on presenting the information.

While you are "on your own" at NCU and there is no "hand holding", a good chair can make all the difference in the world.

Too bad this Allvoices contributor couldn't spell unaccredited correctly and wow, I've won a free iPhone. Allvoices is a citizen journalism site that allows everyone from everywhere to report or offer an opinion about anything. It looks like the author is not happy with Janelle Burrill.

Yes, it looks like that site does not have their moron filters turned on. :)

Rubbish. An LCSW is certainly not a quack... And she holds a law degree from McGeorge.

An issue is the characterization of degree as a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology; NCU didn't offer that degree at that time and I don't believe they ever have. Moreover, State-approved SCUPS does / did offer the Psy.D. but I can't remember if they offered the Ph.D. in Psychology. Some degree puffery going on?

In sum, that posting was made by an anonymous attacker... so there you go. The posting must have been made by some enemy or ex-boyfriend trying to get even.

I recently saw a home page entry written by a graduate of a well-regarded SoCal B&M university. I was shocked by the poor quality of the writing. Given many distance programs now insist on solid writing skills before handing out degrees, I'd almost say people should be shunning/insulting the B&Ms instead.

Not to take this off track, but I know a guy with a degree from SHSU who was in a frat on campus. He claimed he never wrote a paper or studied for four years. They had grad students on their payroll. How many online students have proctored test answers before the test?

During my B&M days I knew many that had created very elaborate forms of cheating. Two people in particular that were coworkers at Bell Labs placed an enormous amount of effort into cheating. I do not recall their exact gpa's but they were both near a 4.0. I did the best I could by simply studying and ended up with a 3.3 gpa.

During my online educational endeavors at Capella and Bellevue I was never approached by nor did I approach any of my classmates to cheat.
