Is International University Panama accredited as legitimate and acceptable ?

  1. Yes maha.

I can use my degree and transfer the credits to any university within the United States, as long as I have a NACES or AACRAO credential evaluation. Credential evaluations from Worldwide Education Consultant Services (WECS), located in Brownsville, Texas are accepted at a majority of universities in Texas. I believe the University of Texas is one of them.

By the way, we do not offer a medical degree, so no need to worry my friend.

If you want to use a degree from International University Panama (or any other foreign school) in the US, then you can certainly pay for an NACES or AACRAO credential evaluation. However, there is no guarantee that the evaluation would find credits or degrees from International University Panama to be equivalent to those from accredited schools in the US. It might not.

International University Panama is listed as an affiliate with the CUFCE credential evaluation service in California. CUFCE also lists several unaccredited US universities as affiliates (e.g. Alpha U, Victorville International U, American Open U). It seems possible that these unaccredited US schools would recognize IUP, since they all share the same relationship with CUFCE.

However, the Original Poster wanted to know if IUP degrees would be accepted at accredited US universities. That's a completely different question. CUFCE is not associated with NACES or AACRAO, so its credential evaluations may have littel or no value as far as accredited US universities are concerned.

  3. CalDog,

The only thing I wish to add, is that I have been accepted at four universities (two RA and two DETC accredited) using my degrees from the International University Panama. I hold a NACES evaluation for the Ed.D. I earned from there as well as a WECS evaluation for both my MBA and Ed.D. Forget all of the additional, and extraneous information you have injected here, like their relationship with CUFCE, or any of their affiliates. The point is, they are recognized by the MOE in Panama.

And as I have stated before, the Veterans Administration accepts them for distance learning, even for students residing in the United States, for students participating in Chapter 31, Vocational Rehabilitation. What more information can I provide you?

Why? The CUFCE information is verifiable online, and is therefore of particular interest. So is the verifiable association between IUP and West Coast University of Panama --which is regarded as an unacceptable degree supplier in certain US states. Why do you think that these points should be forgotten?

So far you have provided no verifiable information at all, except to demonstrate that IUP has official MOE recognition in Panama. And while that may be fine for use in Panama, it does not mean that IUP degrees or credits will be accepted by accredited institutions in the US.

Dr. Hill is on the Management Committee of the Italy Campus of International University Panama. West Coast University of Panama is part of this venture as well.

    Sir,
To the best of your knowledge are there any licensed evaluation services which are certified to carry out the same exact evaluation process for transferable credit or (work experience)= units of credit; equivalency for transfer to another accredited university in the usa. The same type of analysis that a credit evaluator in a university does for teaching credential analysis for instance or acceptance of transfer credit?
Or is it a myth or sham that an outside evaluation agency can in fact evaluate work experience and university transfer credit so as to place a person in employment such as university teaching or other licensed professions? I myself am not familiar with any evaluation service other than within universities that can correctly evaluate transfer credit and accept them for further education that may lead to employment.

I have just been elected as the new President of Egypt. You can expect to hear about it on the news any day now, that is, unless I am unseated by my arch rival, Dr. Hans Doofensmirch. (signed) Perry the Platypus (aka, Agent P.)

    That is absolutely hilarious!

I'm still trying to figure out how what you posted relates to this thread (I'm not saying that it needs to, I'm just used to you being a whole lot more on topic than, for example, I tend to be.). Over the course of my investigation, I found this peace of evidence...

Make what you wish of the fact that "El Cangrejo" means "the crab" in spanish, or whether or not it has anything to do with the spanish idiom "pensando de la inmortalidad del cangrejo." ("Thinking about the immortality of the crab.")

    Ok, now this is facinating:

Here is my translation of it (native spanish speakers, please don't kill me!)

If the grammar seems a bit odd, it's because I found the grammar to be a bit odd in the original passage.

I know that I may not be acting fairly but I will always have a problem when an anonymous member posts in support of a little known non-US entity that allegedly is accredited by the country in which it exists and then they make all sorts of claims about "I got into every university in the galaxy using my degree" but they don't name the universities and there's no way to verify any of it. It doesn't help that devilsadvocate referred to the university as "we." I still have very clear memories of the whole St. Regis debacle where they had "Liberian accreditation" (yes, from the MOE) and yet they still turned out to be a complete scam. So, my point was this: as an anonymous member I too can make outrageous claims (President of Egypt - please wait for the announcement before you start sending cards, flowers, etc.) where there's no way to verify the facts and you all just have to accept it as the truth just because I said so. CURSE YOU DOOFENSMIRCH!!!

naahh, that is not the worst part....I heard a rumor which later was substantiated by media reports in the news that degree mills were being set up to draw in doctoral and other candidates so they could write dissertations and thesis which were later sold to the highest bidders who then took those and submitted them to legit universities and were awarded doctorates and masters degrees!!! Law suits took place but the damage had been done along with the agro caused. One firm in california was selling research papers of this format until the authorities caught wind of it and shut them down.

I found out an interesting phenomena by accident when I was trying to find out on the WWW the accreditation status of this international university in panama. I found that people associated with degree mills when they are caught and shut down somehow come back again under new university names located elsewhere. However they progressively become smarter in covering up the so-called professors running them; as old timers will recognize their names and obviously alert everyone. These people dont change and have no guilt of offering the poor, destitute, desperate and ignorant worthless pieces of paper which gets them no employment and empty pockets. BEWARE
