I have Slacker Radio on my HTC Touch Pro2. I can use the headphone jack on the phone to plug into the Aux In on my car radio, and have instant internet radio on the road. No need to pay for satellite radio. Don't even need a wifi connection.

I didn't say they're inferior. Maybe they're being moved along for being superior. ;)

I agree completely. The Zac Brown Band came out with an album around a year ago, and I loved it. Then every numbnut in the state played it nonstop for 12 months, and now it makes me want to hammer a pencil into my ear, eraser first.

It's kind of like water. I like water. It tastes good. It can be refreshing. But if you continuously pour it down my throat, I'm going to get sick of it. I feel like I'm being waterboarded by country music. Surely there's a clause in the Geneva Convention about this.

Then you might like Henry Cho. He's funnier talking about marriage than being Asian, though, at least to me.

If you want some classical homegrown Texas music, play some Pantera instead.

Ahh, rural central OH here, and country is fairly big. I can think of 3 stations off the top of my head, and I'm sure there are more. My trainer plays country 24/7 in his barn, so Mon.-Thurs. when I work there for a couple of hours I get my fill of it! Thankfully the tractor is on most of the time so I can barely hear it. There's one or two songs currently on that I don't mind, but other than that country is definitely not my thing ;)

    Hi

It's not my thing either. I'm into jazz, Cajun, blues, folk-from-anywhere mostly. Country is pretty big here in Canada, but there are lots of alternatives. Beer, bacon, maple syrup and hockey are big too - but I'm not keen on any of them. Citizenship test involves blindfold identification of 18 brands of beer and a 10,000-word essay on the Stanley Cup playoffs. (I still can't pass it. That's why I'm still a Brit after 58 years here!)

Other than those things I've mentioned, it's a pretty good place to live. (That's why I'm still here.) Everybody's got health care and nobody I know seems to be losing their house. The usual proportion of nitwits, but far fewer with guns.

Country definitely seems more of a rural preference than a southern one. My freshman year in college was at a small state school in rural Illinois and the students played that stuff non-stop.

    Three words: Greatest. Country. Ever.

So evidently, the prevalence of the genre is tied to the "rurality" of a society, not just its' geography. Interesting.

    Not being judgmental here...

    Hi

No...really I'm not. Just saw this on a t-shirt yesterday and thought it was funny. :wink1:

    COUNTRY + RAP = CRAP
