    Hello everyone!

I came across this forum recently and decided to join.

    A little information about myself:
I graduated from high school in May 2009 after being homeschooled. I have never gone to school. After graduating, I began to take CLEP and DSST exams. By November 2009, I had 42 credits. Then I enrolled in Thomas Edison State College and began taking courses online. Now I have 85 credits.
I am working towards a bachelors degree in business. I am still trying to decide whether to do general business or a concentration in accounting or finance.

I am glad I found this forum, it has plenty of helpful information. I came across this forum on degreeforum.net (hope the moderators don't mind my mentioning it).

Hi - Welcome to degreeinfo. My casual reading of the business threads has suggested to me that the accounting concentration might result in more employment opportunities. Let us know how we can help.

    Hello Kizmet. Thank you.

It does seem that the accounting concentration might be better, which is why I am thinking about it. The thing is that I just want a business degree, I don't want to be an accountant. I am not sure if I should invest the extra time and money to get an accounting degree when I don't even want to be an accountant. Although if I had an accounting degree I would have the option of working in accounting or finance if needed, which I couldn't if I just had a general business degree. It is so hard to decide!

Welcome! Whether you want to be an accountant or not, the accounting degree strikes me as being much more marketable, and would still open (mostly) the same doors as a general business degree.

Just a layman's perspective, but I know a lot of accountants and business majors. Good luck!
