But seriously, I hope you get the chance to take a course in apologetics as part of your MA studies at Franciscan. There's been a greater emphasis on apologetics in the Catholic Church, and a background in that would improve your argumentative skills tremendously. Jesus is the Word of God and He existed long before his Word was put into print (in the current form that we have it e.g. the printed scriptures). Thus, it would have been more appropriate to note that the serpent quoted God in Genesis 3:1 -- and not the current printed scriptures. Conversely, that was an excellent catch on your part and is quite remarkable.
