Monday is the big day.... The first day of college learning since 1994, and I'm stoked!:arms:

It will be my first class toward my long awaited bachelor degree. I'm a little nervous, considering I haven't studied in years, and have never taken an online course. It is called Survey of Art History 380 through Fort Hays State University.

I was able to access the course syllabus today. Oooff! Thanks to all of you who suggested I start with one course. It looks very intense. Reading assignments/DVD lectures every day, 1 quiz, 4 timed exams with an essay, and a final exam that is a comprehensive essay.

All of you here at DegreeInfo have been such a wealth of information, and I come here every day to read the posts and search older ones to educate myself on the ins and outs of distance learning. Thank you so much for a great board!

Hopefully I won't look like this at the end of the 8 week course.....:alcoholic:

Congratulations, Julie. I'm sure you will do just fine in your first online course. Sometimes looking at the listing of everything you have to do can be a little intimidating. I find that I still sometimes feel that way and I am an online veteran after earning a teaching credential, a masters degree and an EdS degree all online. Don't worry, if you take it one day at a time it is all very manageable. You might find that it is easier for you now that you are mature than it was when you were younger.

SurfDoctor, thank you so much for the reply and words of wisdom. I hope one day to be able to give the same advice and pay it forward, just like you have.
