What she already has extensive work experience? What if she's interested in working in an area of management drawing on bodies of knowledge and practice that she didn't get to in her BSBA, but that aren't advanced accounting?

The advice is written as if there are three career tracks in business management:
    "Tier 1 MBA,"
    "Accounting," and
"Stop academic learning after the BSBA and get ahead on experience."

I think the underlying premises here miss out on a lot.

I think that Jonathan is more right than he has even stated. I say this because most of our members are earning their degrees WHILE they are also employed, not INSTEAD of being employed. So, they are getting the experience and the education concurrently.

I have decided to go for American Public University. I am doing a master's program in Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.

Congrats! I am attending SNHU right now, and overall I feel that my program is decent. It solely depends what you're looking for and what your overall goals are. I chose SNHU because they had my graduate major in psychology and it was a non-profit, brick-and-mortar school. I also didn't want to jump through hoops in time to attend a program. They serve a good purpose. However, I also graduated from Liberty with my undergrad and I really, really enjoyed the experience. I would have chose Liberty for my graduate degree, but I really wanted a master in psychology and not in counseling. Again, it depends what you want and what you're planning on doing with your degree. Best of luck.

    Hello Jonathan,

Yes, you've a good point and my bad. And what I should've stated that the options listed previously were just examples a person's knowledge in the area of business they desire to pursue. To expand, take more accounting course/CPA License if the area of business is accounting, get the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) for finance or financial advisor type of roles, and for Human Resources area of business, one might want to pursue the highly sought after Professional or Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) Certification. These rigorous certifications/licenses that I've listed so far are just brief examples of online education that will be much valuable than compared to an online MBA.

    Cheers!

Sorry for the previous grammatical mistakes/typos.

Yes, you've made a good point and my bad. And what I should've stated in my previous post is that the options that I listed were just a short example in one of the many area of business they may want to pursue. To expand, take more accounting course/CPA License if the area of business is accounting, get the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) for finance or financial advisor type of roles, and for Human Resources/Organizational Behavior area of business, one might want to pursue the highly sought after Professional or Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) Certification. These rigorous certifications/licenses that I've listed so far are just brief examples of online higher education that will be much valuable than compared to an online MBA.
