I had a debate with a friend of mine regarding graduate law degrees. He stated that students without an undergraduate degree can study for an LLM degree in the UK/European educational system. He said that even a member of the South African member of parliament has an LLD form the University of Leipzig without a prior accredited degree. I admit I read earlier on a post here that Northumbria offers a LLM without the need for a LLB (Though I must believe it requires a Bachelors degree of some sort) Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
When my wife was doing her LL.M. at Nottingham (after the Belgian Licenciaat), she had several classmates with undergrad degrees in non-law subjects. A law degree was not required. jon
Your own soon-to-be alma mater, the University of London, says that you can pursue an LLM without an LLB but you DO have to have an honors undergraduate degree in a related subject and they will place restrictions on the LLM subjects you may study. Nosborne
