Sorry for pitching-in late. I confess too - I am the sole proprietor of the Indian Universities I often quote or suggest - IGNOU, Jaipur National U, Don Bosco, Madurai Kamaraj U etc etc.
Wait...will I face a litigation from these schools? I need a legal opinion from my friend PhD-Scholar (with a degree in Law)

I have often referenced my connections with the Illuminatti which are based on my liaison duties as a member of my core allegiance to the White Lotus. I bring this up as I am wondering if you are perhaps connected to the Nine Unknown or the Thuggees. I raise the issue because I am imagining the formation of an educational cartel controlled by our respective groups. I know that my position in the White Lotus would be greatly enhanced if I could even initiate such a cooperative venture. Perhaps the same is true for you. Let's do lunch.

You know, that's EXACTLY what Jeff Bezos said when I made him a similar offer.

    Weird.

This thread, for some reason, made me think of the Rev. Dr. Leland Milton Goldblatt.

That guy (or possibly, a group of students who wrote crazy crap under that name) provided me endless hours of enjoyment when I used to lurk around the Universal Life Church newsgroup.

I think it's because the only thing missing from this thread is intentionally poorly edited photos aiming to "prove" the legitimacy of this pretend university.

With a little concentrated effort we could probably find that photo of the guy in the robes, the weird hat and the curtain rod.

The character I was referring to is/was Dr. Chief Alexander Swift Eagle. All the links that connected to his photo are dead. If anyone has a working link please let me know.

Just to put a final nail in the coffin of Holy State University, I asked the Division of Higher and Career Education at the Department of Education of Pennsylvania whether Holy State University was legitimate. Their response: "I looked through both our open and closed college files and we do not have a school by that name in our records."

Since PhD-Scholar knows "almost everything about higher education in the United States and applicability of laws to the education", perhaps he or she could explain how that's possible. :scratchchin:

My other favorite: "I have a law degree and for that reason, I know the laws of the United States." No, speaking like that, you most certainly do not, sir.

I think I found the same reference and the same dead link to the photo. I spent a full 15 minutes scouring the web for the photo before I lost interest. Maybe some intrepid soul will pull one from the wayback machine.

Here's a site full of photos, where many of the links still work . . . but still no curtain rod: Home

    I'm sure you're right, it's a real curtain rod.

From their website: "Church for new generation of people" Hmmm, maybe not the best place to study English grammar.

I think what amuses me most is that he was willing to drop money on Orthodox vestments (which are expensive) but cheaped out on the crosier.

But, I can't fault the guy. After all, he:

    "

    Never abused drugs or alcohol

    Never had a gambling problem

    Never cheated on his wife'

And, he also has the an exemplary work history:

"Worked outside the home from age 7 (paper route and selling oranges from a fruit vendor's truck)

    Other Jobs

    Tortilla Factory worker age 12-17

Box Boy - Major Retail Grocery Chain - age 17

Promoted to Clerk after 10 months

Promoted to Assistant Manager at age 19

Worked up the management ladder for the Grocery Store Chain until age 25 - resigned because the Retail Grocery Store hours caused very limited time with wife and with family.'

Not to mention the four Ph.D.'s and the official designation as a Russian Cosmonaut.

And in all of that, he couldn't drag himself over to eBay where he could buy one of a dozen crosiers?
