    Good Morning All,

I am looking to get a certificate in History in order to teach History at the Post-Secondary Level. Currently, the college I am attending for my Master's (American Military University) has a certificate in American History, Ancient History and World War II. Do any of those suffice in order to teach, and if yes, where could I find that information?

If the answer is no, does anyone have a certificate in History program they could recommend that would allow me to teach history?

    Thank you,

    Matt Frame

These certificates would be sufficient for teaching if they are 18 semester hours in length.

Be careful about the WWII one. I think that might be military history, and a community college might be a little picky about that one. APU also has a European History certificate too.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Certificate in History program? I am trying to get all my options before I move forward.

    Thanks for the replies!

The APU certs would be good. I took a few classes there when I was trying to get enough credits to teach the advanced courses at my high school. I enjoyed the courses, and I'd highly recommend the school. However, if you're going to teach with them, I'd recommend you only take courses that are HIST for history. If it's MILH or something for Military History, it may not count.
