    Hillsdale is apparently a far-right Trump-following institution.

Conservative, yes - and their main focus (with considerable success) seems (to me) to be preparing students for roles in Government. We have several previous threads - they've offered other attractive-sounding free or low-cost courses AND Certs. in the past. Slick recruiting move - gotta hand it to 'em.

The other threads are all on our search-thing.

Their courses? I say take 'em if they interest you. Hey, it's an accredited school. (HLC) It's not like you're voting for anyone. :) And not even my freebies from "Trump University" ever required a 'belief statement.' :)

And then they will bombard you with far right emails and ask you to fight against Critical Race Theory in schools.

Now THAT I did NOT know. That changes the whole picture. Thanks, Vicki.

"Far right" is a pejorative label stuck on various things. I would say it is more a conservative organization with emphasis on the classics. I get their newsletter with academic articles and opinions. Don't recall ever seeing anything about Trump (not saying it hasn't happened but I never saw it).

This is from the email they sent to me on CRT. I have been working in K-12 schools for about a decade. So I guess I might be a little sensitive when it comes to school issues….

You might not know this, but it’s a task that has only grown harder over the years. Far too many of our country’s K-12 students are INDOCTRINATED rather than EDUCATED.

In schools across the country, kids learn American history...but it’s being taught through the lens of dangerous ideologies like critical race theory.

The result? More and more young Americans are conditioned to look past our common humanity to categorize people according to characteristics like race.

You’ve probably seen the battles over our children’s K-12 education play out in headlines and heated school board meetings across the country. And it’s a promising sign that we’ve watched candidates surge to victory while promising to return greater control to parents.

Don't blame you. This is enough proof for me. Thank goodness for spam filters! I still think the courses could be worthwhile. Isn't there an "unsubscribe" button for the emails? I thought that was required. And --- nobody can make you READ them.

Yeah, I unsubscribed at that point and deleted the account I had. I’d rather learn from a more reputable source.

Thanks for all those links. I hope those who are interested in Shakespeare check those out instead.
Anyone who shouts about CRT in K-12 schools is clueless. The concept might be taught in college and there’s nothing wrong with that. But it is NOT being taught in K-12 schools.
