One of my friends was looking at this school, and asked me if i knew anything about it since I am a "military guy" and since I too DE classes I suspect?

I don't - but I told him I would ask the Secret Circle of distance education what they think or know. So I am here to ask what you all think of this place.

    What I know So far:
    Started in 2001
Has some Fed LE as instructors
Has had or still has an agreement with the FBI to train some of their people ( Blues Jam Print by Dane Tilghman at Art.com )
As time goes on this school "appears" to be getting more recognized in the DE and Fed/Mil LE world via some of their faculty and board members.

Is the education credible, and relevant? Would you hire someone with a credential or degree from Henley-Putnam University in one of their subject capacities?

    MASTERS PROGRAMS
    Intelligence Management
    Terrorism and Counter-terrorism Studies
    Strategic Security and Protection Management

    Bachelors
    Intelligence Management
    Terrorism and Counter-terrorism Studies
    Strategic Security and Protection Management

    Certificates
    Executive Protection
    Intelligence Analysis
    Counter-terrorism Studies
    Security Management
    Intelligence Collection
    Strategic Intelligence
    Intelligence and Terrorism Profiling

How much does a degree program cost?
The estimated total cost including tuition, and estimated fees for books and equipment for the Bachelor's program is $25,500.00, the Master's program is $ 26,600.00, and the Doctoral program is $35,900.00 including estimated fees for books and equipment. The Certificate program tuition depends upon what type of certificate, ranging from $5500.00 to $6900.00. (This does include all books

    Bachelor's program is $25,700.00
    Master's program is $ 26,500.00
    Doctoral program is $35,950.00

A few 2006-2008 forum posts around the web had everything from "this place is a scam" to "you naysayers have no idea what you are talking about, the government accepts this degree!!" .

I really don't know what to tell him??

He wants to become some type of government Intel Analyst - I saw that USAJOBS has hundreds of these jobs but do not require an Intel Analyst degree, does he need this?

    Thanks!

It’s a legitimate accredited (DETC) university specializing in both undergraduate and graduate academic programs in executive protection, counterterrorism, and intelligence operations. In comparison, Henley-Putnam could be considered similar to say the DETC accredited lower profile American Graduate University with its graduate level specialization in government contracting and procurement studies.

It's DETC accredited. It's kind of unremarkable and obscure...even for a DETC school. Oh, and very expensive too. There are better options available.

    Right, like APU/AMU, for example.

Yes I though it looked a bit costly, however I have not paid tuition personally for YEARS and I really did not know what a BA should cost. I sent my guy the info posted here and recommended AMU as a viable alternative to this school.

    Thanks for the look out
