White House alternative facts vs. CBO actual facts, at least in this case.

What a mess. Man politicians suck, your as much as mine. You go down with your sinking ship. I'm staying ashore.

    Mine is quite positive too.

I came to Canada with coding skills, so didn't have to work in stereotypical "survival jobs" (security guards, retail, fast food, construction, stuff like that). Nevertheless, it's quite liberating to have a little plastic card saying you'll have access to health care no matter what. Sure helps when you're laid off, or need to change a job that's a bad fit. With current prevalence of precarious work, this is important not just for immigrants.

One possible outcome I see is Republican shenanigans destroying individual insurance markets, and driving up the premiums for employers. Eventual Democratic Congress will then be forced to, rather than fixing the mess, just pass a single payer system (expanding either Medicare or Medicaid, adjusting as needed), or a new system with true universal coverage. Thus ending this madness, and finally shutting up them smug Canadians.

Probably more nothing, with extra nothing on top.

What and miss out on the partisan lies to rile everyone up? That's disappointing.

It looks like McCain will be a "no" vote. Two other senators are on the fence about how they will vote.

So you think the insurance companies are going to just eat the loss and keep premiums, co-pays, etc. the same? Of course they're not. They're going to pass every single dollar of that loss onto the consumers who will be forced to pay so much for their coverage that they may as well not have any coverage at all. So much for your populist president
