Why not, they're already doing it gradually with Harvard Medical School: https://onlinelearning.hms.harvard.edu/hmx/
The Good: It is Harvard The Bad: It is not actually Certificate program, just course certificate completion, so you have to list a bunch of courses in your resume. The Ugly: There will be "ONLINE" in the record.
This is a description of the HBX learning platform. It reads a bit like an advertisement but has some interesting info https://www.voices.com/blog/harvard-online-learning-platform/
I took the CORE certificate in the past and found it to be quite difficult. It's no joke and it's not something you can just start and expect to get by without putting at least 15 hours a week of self study if you don't have a high level background in business already. I made a mistake of going in cold the first time and ended up having to drop out. Therefore if someone shows me that they completed CORE I'll automatically think that they have more than enough of a foundation in modern business terms and practices from an academic perspective.
