I'm trying to transfer some 'P' grade courses to Ashworth College, from TESC with FEMA courses through the credit bank...

Has anyone ever successfully transferred a course with a 'P' grade to Ashworth College?

When Ashworth told me that they accept 'P' grades, they thought I was talking about CLEP exams. They didn't know that I was talking about something different.

I told the Registrar that I could prove that each FEMA exam must be passed with at a least 70-85% (depending on the exam), and that I could submit that info, plus my certificates. She told me to do that and she'll pass it along to the Dean for review... this doesn't look good.

Anyone with any good ideas on how to build my case for the Dean, please chime in. I'm attempting to transfer "Effective Communication", "Leadership and Motivation", and "Developing and "Managing Volunteers" to Ashworth's course "Human Relations" in the Psych program.

If this doesn't work out, does anyone have some suggestions on what I could do with these credits? If they wind up not being used, I just wasted $390 :(

If the FEMA course are ACE evaluated, then AMU/APU will accept them in transfer. You could then earn an AA in General Studies provided you have enough loose general education credits (~30 credit hours) plus electives (~30 credit hours). The credit distribution has changed somewhat since I enrolled so you should check their web site to determine the most up-to-date requirements.

    Hi Sentinel,

The FEMA courses are not ACE evaluated. However, APUS told me that they would accept them based on where they would fit in a degree program with them. Same goes for DocNet courses. I'm not really interested in APUS right now, but perhaps in the future it might be an option to explore.

Ashford University says that they accept 'P' grades, so I MAY be able to get credit for something there, but I think I've already taken enough courses there that would have fit with FEMA, so there may be nothing left that the FEMA courses will apply to.

Any suggestions on how to build my case for transfer credit of the FEMA courses to Ashworth are welcome.

I am attempting to transfer the following FEMA courses through the TESC credit bank to Ashworth College's Human Relations (3 credits) course in the Psychology program:

*Leadership and Influence, *Decision making and Problem solving, *Effective Communication, *Developing and Managing Volunteers.

Description of Ashworth's Human Relations course:

    R04 - HUMAN RELATIONS
Human relations and the human resource manager; goal setting and self motivation; problem solving and creativity; managing stress; handling personal problems and conflicts; communicating with others; relating to managers, co-workers, and customers; developing cross-cultural competency; developing self-confidence and becoming a leader.

Write a proposal to Ashworth College in which you explain how each of the four (4) FEMA courses relate to the subject of human relations. Reading the course description you provided in the previous posting seems to clearly map to human relations. Treat the proposal as though it is a persuasive essay. Take each of the areas covered by the human relations course at Ashworth College and show how one or more of the FEMA courses addresses each of those areas.
