I want to thank everyone on this forum who has contributed specific information by responding to forum inquiries or posting some need to know information. I remember over a year ago I registered on this forum researching the most possible and strategic plan to finish my degree. Finally, one year late I completed 11 classes to complete my B.S in Organizational Leadership with a 3.511 and was fortunate enough to be allowed to take my first graduate course at Liberty University with the Management and Leadership program and completed the course on 12/17/09 before my graduation ceremony on 12/18/09. I am set to finish my first graduate program by this fall of 2010 Once again thank you all for your continued support with your wisdom and feedback on this forum.

I also want to wish everyone a blessed new year this 2010. I do hope your families and your goals are in the right priorities. We can’t loose focus on the important things in life.

  3. Congratulations Elias! BIOLA is a great school. Several of the other teachers where I work are alumni from there. Glad to hear you have your priorities straight. Keep the Main Thing the main thing!

    Michael,
Thank you for the encouragement. I am interested to know. What did you study at MIT. I am interested to get started on a certificate on audio engineering. I just got my first look at logic pro 9. It is an amazing program...

  7. I studied professional guitar at MI. Got to interface with some of the greats of that day. That was back in the late '80's. (So that gives away my age!) It was an intense experience. I made my living playing guitar for a number of years after that and the experience at MI really had a great impact on me. So I really liked it, but I have no idea how it is these days. All these years later I still use much of what I learned, even though I now mostly only play at church.

Logic is the bomb. I still do a little studio work for Calvary Chapel Music now and then, and I use Logic for that sometimes. It's cool because they use Logic in the recording studio too, so sometimes I record the parts they need at home using Logic and a Focusrite interface on my MacBook Pro. Then I often just send them the track or give it to them on a thumb drive. Other times they want me in the studio. This is amazing stuff for an old dog like me who grew up with R to R tape machines being the state of the art.

  8. Part 2: So MI is really cool and very legit, but a career in that sort of thing doesn't really work out very well unless you are one of the those few individuals who somehow make it...and they are few. My living playing guitar was meager, but I had a lot of fun doing what I loved. Hope that gives you some insight, Robert. Glad to help in any way I can. Blessings, Mike

If a doctoral degree in leadership interests you, check out Indiana Tech. They have a PhD program and it does not cost too much more than the EdD from Grand Canyon. It is on my short list along with a few others.

I reviewed the PHD from Indiana Tech and it is in line with what I studied since my undergraduate classes. I am planning on taking the MAT in order to get ahead and make it for Fall term. I like the curriculum and am going for it. I considered GCU however, I did further inquiry on the school and will remain silent on the matter for now. Thanks again for the tip... I am indebted to the information you provided.

Good luck on the process and perhaps we will be classmates?? If I do not get accepted into the Valdosta State DPA program then I will likely start at Indiana Tech this fall.

I have spoke to the program chair a couple of times (Dr. Rauch) and he has been very helpful and makes you think seriously about committing to a doctoral program. Although, the program is only a year old it sounds like they are serious about quality of the program and helping students be successful.
