   Hmm, this Singapore company has snapped up some California assets and even a for-profit university! Cool, hopefully their success or future success can help those students who would like to continue at that university. I'd like to see them work towards a more student centric cause instead of just for profit...

   They're a business - their fundamental responsibility is to (make money for) their stakeholders - whether we others like it or not. If they think student-centrism would increase their profits, they might. If not, they won't.
   
   Rule 1: Nothing gets in the way of profits.
