There is only one issue with this "free degree", the testing location is in one of their centers.
    See their FAQ question/answer below.
How will be the mode of conducting examinations?
Examinations will be conducted through online mode in AMITY centers across INDIA and the globe.

Does it include this? Amity University :: Pearson VUE
This is what it seems. Amity University
Wowzah! :: Amity University Online ::
Read the exam center section - Internet Cafe for the win!

They seem to have a pretty good Business program: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amity_Business_School
They have several international offices: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amity_University
Just a comparison to their Dubai office, their fee's for a 3 year degree is roughly $11-12,000 US: Applying To Amity | Amity University

A second issue might be the content: Amity MOOC

The certificate programs look more interesting to me.

WASC is for the campuses of Dubai, Lucknow, Noida and Greater Noida. The university does not claim WASC recognition: Amity MOOC

Me too. The BA syllabus looks like a basic bare bones sociology degree. I'll pass on that. (Of course I already have a BA that serves me perfectly well.)

But if somebody just needs an accredited BA as inexpensively as possible, this might be something to consider.

That's what confused me. I totally missed MsGanti's post #5, apologies to her for that.

Where I am coming from is the fact that the Amitymooc faq says: "the degree will be awarded by AMITY UNIVERSITY UTTAR PRADESH".

    Amity MOOC

And that's the name that appears on WASC's directory. So if anyone tries to verify the awarding school's accreditation, there it is.

    https://www.wscuc.org/institutions/amity-university-uttar-pradesh

What's more, Amitymooc tells us that its physical address is located on the Noida campus.

    Amity MOOC

I'm still not sure if this particular MOOC program is included in the list of Amity degrees in WASC's June 8, 2016 accreditation letter. So this degree program might not be included in the WASC accreditation and if not, Amity is right to leave WASC off their 'recognition' page.

(The degree program syllabus does seem kind of minimal as does the delivery method. I've seen plenty of unaccredited state-approved programs with more robust syllabi.)

I agree with AsianStew that the examination centre thing might be my own biggest concern, if it involved significant travel.

I forgot that post until I re-read the first page.
