Ladies and Gents, Please forgive me if this has been explored in the past. I am looking for foundation online computer science courses that are $250 per credit hour or less and of an 8 week duration. I am not looking for IT courses. If you have any insight into this it would be greatly appreciated.
What program you're looking? And what are the prerequisite courses as Foundation? Here are some of the Computer Science courses from Troy University. $260.00 per semester credit. Major Requirements CS 2250 (3) Computer Science I CS 2255 (3) Computer Science II CS 2265 (3) Advanced Programming I CS 3330 (3) Data Structures and Algorithms CS 4420 (3) Introduction to Database Systems CS 4443 (3) Web-Based Software Development CS 4445 (3) Data Communications and Networking CS 4447 (3) Systems Analysis and Design CS 4448 (3) Operating Systems Class is 10 weeks long, 5 terms per year.
Thank You TEKMAN. The ACM has a listing of knowledge areas that an academic computing program might adhere to. I think most computer science programs will adhere to generally the following: http://www.acm.org//education/curricula/ComputerScience2008.pdf 3.2.1 Knowledge areas Figure 3-1. The 14 knowledge areas Discrete Structures (DS) Human-Computer Interaction (HC) Programming Fundamentals (PF) Graphics and Visual Computing (GV) Algorithms and Complexity (AL) Intelligent Systems (IS) Architecture and Organization (AR) Information Management (IM) Operating Systems (OS) Social and Professional Issues (SP) Net-Centric Computing (NC) Software Engineering (SE) Programming Languages (PL) Computational Science (CN) It seems that your undergrad at Troy has served you well. I am also looking at Regis. Its costly but it seems to move quickly. I also looked into Old Dominion but they believe I am a transient resident of VA since I've only lived here for over ten years. There are pros and cons to each program but it seems like Troy was good enough for you to matriculate into Columbia Grad School?
^^^ Although Regis has 5-week classes, I've never seen any CS classes offered in that format. All of those CS classes have been 8-week courses, 6 of those per year (2 spring, 2 summer, 2 fall).
Yeah, I'm more than halfway through the BS CS program. I have 4 more upper division required courses & two electives left.
