    Hello !
Im trying to get a degree on Foreign language Spanish. (I'm a Spanish native speaker ) I saw that Charter Oak State has this degree.I'm planning to do the Spanish clep test to get those credits. Can some help me to plan where to get the general educations credits . I have 43 FEMA courses credits too. Please help!!!! I took a medical assistant in a vocational college in Miami ,FL 20 years ago. I have a transcript that says i have 32 college credits do you think that they might take some of those too??? THANK YOU in advance with any help. I'm so overwhelmed!! If you have any other suggestion or idea please share ! THANK you again.:(

The General Education courses can be CLEP/DSST out of if you're very close to those testing centers. If you're far away from one, then StraighterLine/Study.com or Saylor them. Your best bet right now is to take the CLEP Spanish, then take the ACTFL Spanish (Both Oral/Written) to see how many credits you can get out of them. If lucky, you will have 30 credits with those three tests alone for cheap! Are you familiar with another language other than English and Spanish?

I can understand some Portuguese but not to do a test for it. So Clep and ACTFL will count as different credits?? That will be amazing!

Yes, the CLEP and ACTFL will count for different credits. It's amazing, but not as amazing as getting the degree for dirt cheap. So, if you're going to COSC, they can only give you 17-20 credits for general education electives, up to 33 total if you include them in free electives for the FEMA courses you took. The only hard part would be to find the required/remaining UL in Spanish if they do not provide you with enough credits.

Your main concern right now is to get those CC, FEMA, CLEP/ACTFL credits to COSC and get the 30 UL credits total. Review the Beginners Guide sticky, on the last two posts, I have a spreadsheet and instructions to find "transferable" equivalents. Download that and try to make a revision with your details, have it color coded for those you know, don't know will come through. Post it here and I'll revise it if needed. You should not apply until you're almost done with the general education credits from CLEP/Saylor/SL/Study.com
