Hi, I just finished a 8 week semester through New Mexico Junior College, I took principles of Marketing. Passed the course with a 87 percent average including a 90% on a 30+ page marketing plan.

I scored high in all the other written assignments and exam, yet today i log into my account to check my transcript and the instructor posted a grade of a D.

What can i do about this?

Contact the instructor and ask about the discrepancy.

If the instructor cant or wont fix it, contact your academic advisor.

That doesn't sound right...why not contact the instructor?

Contact the instructor first. Don't spend your political capital escalating something like this with the college if it can't be resolved with the instructor. It's almost certainly something innocent and passing, a transcription mistake, or a glitch in the system. (For instance, it could be there's a script that tallies the total grade from individual components, and the instructor has started adding scores for some individual components but hasn't entered them all.)

I'll echo those who say contact the instructor first. Doubly so in that if it turns out that you've screwed something up you won't embarrassing yourself by escalating something when you're in the wrong.

Absolutely! Please don't worry. I didn't want it to drag on stressfully or anything. Now it's resolved quickly; yay!
