I was supposed to received my first disbursement of federal aid on June 6th. As of today, I have not received it, so I sent my financial adviser an email about it. She said that many students have not received their federal aid and the school is looking into it.

I'm wondering if this has to do with the federal spending limit?

It does....my best friend is working for the Department of Education's financial funding. His team is responsible for American students study oversea. They have to review the application really carefully due to federal budget deficit and cutting expenses.

I know there were some changes to my Federal Student Aid (Stafford) where the funds were being sent directly to the school and my GI Bill stuff was also changed that way as well. I don't know about FAFSA funds, but the tread seems to be heading in that direction.
