This engineering institute of Delhi is fake, says UGC: The map of 22 ‘bogus’ universities across India - The Times of India

    The article annoyingly blocks copy-and-paste.

I also like the list of ways to tell a university is valid at the bottom of the article.

    That is annoying.

The NoScript extension defeats this, though. And one can always get it from the source code.

The website for Mahamaya Technical University looks like a grade-schooler created it with one of the old Geocities platforms.

Nothing says "legitimate" about a school more than everyone/everything having a GMail email address!

International Islamic University of Prophetic Medicine (IIUPM).

    Prophetic medicine? What's that?

Based on the name, my guess is that it's a way for religious people to cosplay as physicians—faith healing, Islam edition.

TAU is based in Guyana, not India.

A tidbit at the end of the article is a reference to this: National Academic Depository (NAD) it looks like a National Students Clearinghouse-type site, except that like Parchment you can scan a QR code to open one of the entries. Pretty neat.
