Faculty Quality At U.S. Universities

One measure of overall faculty quality of an institution is the number of its
programs that rank in the top 10 in their fields. Table 2 shows the top 20
institutions according to this measure of which UC San Diego with 14 programs
in the top 10 is tied for 10th along with Columbia, Michigan and Wisconsin.

 

It should be noted that this data is from 1995. A 1997 update was issued in 2000, but is not as readily available.
