Some yeas ago Excelsior used to have these comprehensive catalogs. There was one for Business Degrees, another for Liberal Arts Degrees. In it there was a very detailed description of the specific requirements for each degree. The Business Catalog even had a schedule of what CLEP/DANTES examinations could be used to fulfill most of the credits for the General Business Degree.

I have looked in the Excelsior web page but can't find a catalog like this anymore. Does anyone know if there is such a thing now?

Yeah they still have them; you have to created a user id and pw then signed into the login page to get to them.
    They are in Pdf format

Thanks, tried that already, but can't find them. All I could see are these general catalogs that don't go into depth explaining the distribution requirements (i.e., how many credits required in social sciences, liberal arts, etc for each degree) as the old catalogs used to have...

You can try writing [email protected]
They might (should) be able to give you some more information.

Are you sure? I just several days ago looked at Excelsior cats that looked the same as the old ones.

That's on pages 37 and 38 of my downloaded business catalog. Downloaded on March 15, 2005.

Hi Will, I think I remember someone mentioned a while ago that Excelsior was making its degrees requirements somewhat less accesible to potential students. But I am not completely sure about it.

Ok, I logged in, have gone to the EXCELSIOR COLLEGE PUBLICATION REQUEST page and all I can download there is:
"School of Business Viewbook (Viewbook only)" which really is a very summarized description of the program.
Where do I find the comprehensive catalog? Do i have to request it by email from them?

    Will,
I am a student at Excelsior and when I go to the pubs page there are two sections. The first section is called "MyEC Materials" and lists about 10 pubs. There are two catalogs listed in this section "School of Business Catalog" and "2003-2004 Business and Technology Catalog." I am a business student--I wonder if that is why those are the only catalogs listed.

The second section is called "General Materials" and doesn't have any catalogs. I'm wondering if this is the only section you see if you are not a student at Excelsior.

Also, I went to the Liberal Arts page and clicked on the link for Bachelor degrees. Down on the right it has a box that says:

'The core requirements are in PDF format and start with the filename "Guidelines for the Major in ...".'

and has a link to the pubs page. But of course when you go to the pubs page there aren't any docs by that name. If they are purposely keeping this info until students enroll, that's crazy, who would enroll?

I'll call my advisor when I get a chance and see what I can find out.

Well, you didn't expect to find it on the publications request page, did you? This is college level, after all. ;)

After logging in go to the <School of Business and Technology> page. Go to the <Bachelor's Degree in Business> page. In the yellow highlight you'll see the link for downloading the business catalog. It is a pdf file.
