Just got a new job in my school as an IT liason in charge of developing better integration of IT with the teaching and curriculum. I have a background in IT and have been teaching for a couple of years. Now I am looking to supplement my experience with an academic credential in the realm of Educational Technology. I know that several schools offer these degrees online. One in particular that seems really interesting is offered by Mizzou (U of Missourri, Columbia). Penn State and UMass also offer such programs, I believe. Ideally, I'd like to find a program that offers not only an MS but also a graduate-level certificate along the way. Anybody here done a program like this that they can recommend? Even if you haven't done such a program, perhaps you saw one somewhere that looked good. Let me know. Thanks.
George Washington University has an all-online MA in Educational Technology Leadership. There's no certificate along the way, but it's a top-25 school and the total tuition is less than $15,000. http://www.gwu.edu/~etl -=Steve=-
Wow, thanks guys. Both of those look like great programs! The UF one gives loads of options and they are quick. The GW program is amazingly affordable.
Fort Hays State University offers a Master of Science in Instructional Technology : http://www.fhsu.edu/virtualcollege/degrees/masters/it/index.htm FHSU is RA accredited as well though there is no Certificate aside from the Masters degree. BM
Chadron State College offers a graduate level Educational Technology Certificate online. http://www.csc.edu/distancelearning/Cert_EducTech.asp
Peru State College offers a 4-course (12 credit) graduate cert in Instructional Technology: http://www.peru.edu/Certificates/CourseDescriptions/InstructionalTechnology.htm They also offer an MS in IT, but they only accept licensed (current or eligible) teachers for that program. Anyone can earn the certificate though. Tuition is 162.50 per credit.
