Hey guys I was shocked today to find out that Education direct, is not only DETC accredited but the high school and vocational programs are accredited by the RA Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Any one care to guess why the degree programs do not share this approval???

    My stab at it! *ouch*

Well, IMHO, i do believe in order to be RA, you have to have a physical campus setting to teach classes. Education Direct doesn't have that option, whereas their HS and Vocational programs do?

Anyways, being DETC is good enough. Some schools aren't RA nor DETC and are accredited from another accrediting agency recognized by CHEA.org or the US DoE.

Hope I got that right...lol, if not, don't blame me, i'm canadian!
    Haha...

    Thomson Corp owns Education Direct.
I've looked at their programs, they're good, affordable and
provide a quality source of higher education.

    Hello Jeremy and AsianStew,
Education Direct is legitimate, and may indeed have regional accreditation for their high school and vocational programs. Yet they have national accreditation for their college level programs. Without getting into any arguments over RA vs. NA, I will state that a regional agency believes they are competent to offer high school and vocational level courses. This is all that this fact means. Some might think that, if their college level courses were sufficient, they would not have a hard time getting regional accreditation (considering their knowledge and relationship with their regional accreditor in addition to the financial backing they have).

Maybe it isn't a good financial move.
