I'd settle for a certification on how to make a proper omellete. I'm so ham-fisted that they all turn out to be scrambled eggs :(

I never said my program was not a degree mill, but to be more clear I added this to the web site:

We are not in any way promoting this degree deceptively it can be considered by ,do to the requirements of the degrees issued, a "Christian Degree Mill" but no more so than the Universal Life Church (Modesto) is or many schools that are also unaccredited offering degrees for religious use such as patriot Bible University. Its our goal to provide the degree under the standards below and we are doing so at no cost, issuing only religious degrees.

That should nicely clarify things. Now if anyone requests one from God they know exactly what they are getting you can't say I'm being anything but honest. So sure call my program a degree mill I have no problems with that just don't call this a program that is ripping people off or is lying.

You should get the reactions I get from churches I picket to get people to stop going and worshipping in a simple and private way, some are not very Christian.

To get back to the original topic :D

I have never seen the pas rates for CLEP exams but here the pass rates for DANTES exams:
DANTES SUBJECT STANDARDIZED TESTS (DSST) VOLUME PASS RATE FY07
The pass rates vary enormously between different exams and I expect the fail rates are higher than for people taking a comparable college courses. A mitigating factor for the DANTES fail rates is that any service person can take the exams for free and failure does not carry a penalty.

    How dare you!?!?
Possibly, but since many DSSTs are upper-level, I would expect that students who make it to upper-level comparable courses aren't exactly the type that are planning on skating by with no study.

BTW, the military CLEP/DSST policy will soon change. You get one free shot at each exam, then you are on your own. I like this policy a lot, it rewards the troops for their service while putting the responsibility on them to work for a pass.

You filthy rebel. You are dragging the good name of the Doctor of Cheffery program through the mud. Now it will probably loose its RA status.

    Sincerely,

    LOL

Ok what is wrong with a person who may not be "college material" but needs the degree asking for a easy program it seems to me employers and degree inflation for standards that may not be necessary is an issue.

For example to manage a Burger King they demand a bachelors degree in my area, any degree that is accredited even if you have a solid associates degree and experience. Or other credentials that would give them the needed skills our local school system has PTEC (Pinellas Technical Education Center) that offers two culinary arts programs one in effectively more cookery with supervisory trainings. Yes its fully part of the school system open to High School students and adults but offer no degrees but certificates and diplomas.

I hate to say it but this diploma say with experience in the industry would not be enough for BK, even though they train well and graduates do well in most restuarants and food service operations.

Why is a BA in History going to matter shouldn't having the right skills matter far more?

I've met recruiters from various service companies and they value a BA/BS degree because the student managed to plan, follow and meet school/degree requirements, meet and pass challenges of tougher courses, have two or more math courses, and had work experience during their study years.
However these companies would make exceptions for bright and experienced people without degrees.

Ya know, you're right. We should just train people to do a task and call it done.
