Officials at Fort Hood have determined that they will include we Army soldiers here at Goodfellow AFB in their eArmyU program. I understand that the Army has directed those other bases already included in the program to reach out to all soldiers serving within their geographic areas. I have contacted a counselor at Hood, and am waiting for a call back and/or email with an appointment time for me to go to Hood to discuss my participation in the program.

For me, this would open up opportunities in programs other than Touro's. Right now, the front runners for me are the UT-Arlington MBA, or the Utah State University Master of Science in English (with concentration in technical writing).

If you happen to be a soldier, on active duty, serving within the geographic area of Fort Hood, Fort Campbell, or Fort Benning, you may want to check with your education counselor and/or chain of command to see if you can participate.

I'm not sure, but I believe the program is only open for undergraduate courses in a degree program (i.e. Associate & Bachelor). Also, it is only for enlisted.

If you find out otherwise, please post.

    Tracy,

Are the masters degrees fully funded, also?

Yes, it appears so. According to the program website:*

Through AUAO, soldiers have the opportunity to earn a certificate or an associate, bachelor or master’s degree from a home institution while taking courses from multiple colleges and universities....Once enrolled, soldiers receive 100% of the funds required for tuition, books and course fees, as well as a personal laptop, printer, Internet access and email account. In addition to 24-hour technical support, AUAO provides soldiers with assistance in determining a program of study, registering for courses and transferring credits.
