    Hello!
My name is Melissa and I am a newbie!

I am completing my BS in health and community services at Empire State College DL program within a year and I am now trying to find a dual masters/PHD or a program that allows me to obtain my masters and PHD in one swoop (concurrently)

I am interested in obtaining my PHD in Public Health in the following areas:

    General Public Health
    Epidemiology
    Genetics
    Nutrition
    Child and Family
    Infant and Maternal Health
    Health services

I want a program that is affordable, that requires no out of state traveling for residencies. I am a married SAHM w/ 2 young kiddos so flexibility is the key and i live in Seattle.
Thank you for all of your help!

    Hi Melissa!

    Welcome to Degreeinfo!

Walden University offers an online PhD in Public Health, with concentrations in Community Health Promotion & Education and Epidemiology. They do have a track (Track 1) for applicants who hold a Bachelors degrees, however, all Walden doctoral students are required to complete residencies (four, 4-day residencies for Public Health). Perhaps they have a residency location near Seattle?

Capella University offers an online Doctor of Public Health (DrPh) with concentrations in Epidemiology and Health Advocacy and Leadership. It looks like Capella only requires two residencies (not sure how long or where they are located).
    Best of luck!

Note to Melissa and all other newbies: No one here knows what is "affordable" for you. If you have a maximum dollar amount that you've budgeted that would give us an idea of your limits. Beyond all that, I'm sure there are a bunch of options available.

Sorry, affordable to me is being covered by student loans, probably around the 10 to 12k range for the year

Seeking a Dual Masters/Ph.D. Progam w/ concurrent curriculum options

    Hello!
My name is Samuel and I am a newbie!

I have obtained my BA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH and I am now trying to find a dual Masters/Ph.D. or a program that allows me to obtain my masters and Ph.D. in one swoop concurrently.

I am interested in obtaining my Masters in these possible areas: Information Systems & Technology, Public Administration, or Business Administration and my Ph.D. in Business Management & Communication, Public Policy & Administration.

I want a program that accommodates my $3500 annual budget that requires no out of state traveling for residencies. I am a married w/ 2 young kiddos so flexibility is the key and I live in Columbus, Ohio.

Thank you for all of your help!

I think I can say, without fear of contradiction, that you will not find a US program of that description at that price.

Sometimes these are spammers using banal posts to get to the point where their spam won't be pre-moderated.

John: Are you referring to the highly questionable one in Panama, or the even more questionable one in Louisiana? Is your message being typed by Archy?

In one way of looking at it, Melissa, a great many universities do this. The way my wife did it is typical. She inquired about PhD programs at many schools. Most of them replied saying they would provisionally admit her to the PhD on the condition she finished the Master's first. And so she did. Two years in residence (at Vanderbilt). When she passed the qualifying exams, she was advanced to candidacy for the doctorate. If she hadn't passed, she would have been awarded the Master's and waved goodbye. Our granddaughter is currently doing the same thing in quantum physics at Cornell.
