    Article from the East African Standard. Kenyan Education Minister pushes for distance education to increase access to higher education. Article title refers to the assertion that university enrollment (as percentage of high school) in Africa is lowest in the world.

    Trying to understand the political chess moves within a country that is half a world away is, frankly, well beyond my ability. Because I have some vested interest in the subject of South African DL I try to keep abreast of major developments, knowing full well that there are forces at work that I will never understand. With that said I offer this link, an interview with McCaps Motimele, President of the UNISA council, on the subject of "the merger."

  4. Motimele is a real character. He is the subject of various investigations into financial irregularities, and the target of a sexual harrassment suit at Unisa.

    (Note that my previous two posts in this thread are not related to Unisa.)
