Anyone know of any distance HVAC courses? DETC might likely be a good bet. I took a look around the web but did not come up with anything.
Try Thomson Education Direct: http://www.educationdirect.com/refrigeration/ While ED is a DETC-accredited school, their vocational-technical programs are regionally accredited.
DETC accredited http://www.pcdi.com/courses/rf/ http://www.hardinet.org/ Canadian school: http://www.grantoninstitute.com
If you simply want DL HVAC courses, you could try here: http://www.delmarlearning.com/hvac/Index.aspx?cat1ID=HR
I don't know about the big rigs, but you can learn how to operate a bulldozer and crane by DL along with a resident training program: http://www.earthmoverschool.com/homestudy.htm
Well, you don't get to drive a truck by DL, but you can study for the commercial drivers license (CDL) online... http://www.docnmail.com/tests/cdl-driver.htm
pacificamark informs us of Cal Poly and they have an HVAC certificate. http://continuing-ed.calpoly.edu/distance_learning.html#
Thanks! These are all excellent resources that I didn't see out there. My friend down the street is looking at various things to do now and he was asking about a distance program for HVAC. He's interested in taking his severance pay(yep, JoAnnP, he was replaced at work by an H-1b. he got cut, they kept the H-1b working with him..that he trained, and then brought another one in after cutting him) and starting up something of his own.
