    So do I.

"...in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility..."

"...(people)would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying."

    Adolf Hitler - Mein Kampf

Like I said -- "the big lie." Well-known tool of propagandists of all stripes. Sadly, no case study needed.

I know a man who is not so much interested in brewing as he is in the idea of distilling. He makes vodka in a very nice little still that he bought online. For him it's a "hobby" and he "gives it away" to friends.

    "My Grand-daddy made vodka
    His Grand-daddy, too
And we ain't paid no vodka tax
    Since 1792.

Just lie there by the juniper,
When the moon is right -
    Watchin' them jugs a-fillin' up
    In the pale moonlight."

I admire his uh... spirit. And his generous nature. Good stuff!

At the top of the ICS Canada home page, there is a selection box that says "Choose Your Country".
It will be set to "Canada". Try changing it to "United States" and see what happens.

Penn Foster was founded in 1890 as the "International Correspondence School" (ICS). They used the "ICS" name for more than 100 years. The "Penn Foster" name is relatively new; the traditional "ICS" name is still used in Canada.

ICS Canada was previously Education Direct. Before that, it was...ICS Canada. Dunno why the change. Penn Foster? When ICS in the US gained DETC approval for college degrees, they needed a new name that still sounded traditional -- so they took the ICS founder's name (Thomas J. Foster) and the State of origin (Pennsylvania). Ta-da! Penn Foster.

ICS Canada is not authorized to offer any degree programs, although Canadians may enrol in Penn Foster (US) degree courses. ICS UK is authorized to offer British-style tutorial support for several University of London external degree programs.

At one time in the 1980s, ICS Canada was offering degrees, through the unaccredited Northland Open University. Neither Northland nor the arrangement lasted too long.

Oops - too late to add in the post above. I say Northland Open U. was "unaccredited" - which is generally a US term. I call it that because Northland Open had:

    (a) no Provincial Charter as a University - although it was duly registered as a "Charitable Institution" (?) and teaching institution in the Yukon.
    (b) no Ministry recognition I know of - certainly none in my province of residence (Ontario) - and yes...I called the Ministry back then, to check.
    (c) no membership in AUCC (Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada)

If I may refer to old McKenzie Brothers movies - Northland was indeed a "Strange Brew" in the Great White North, eh?

ICS used to be big in this country but I think it has changed it's name as well. It has been around for a very long time. You would have to think that it was doing something right to be around that long. As I recall from my youth, a lot of people used to do accountancy and business qualifications through it and then sit for professional body examinations.

ICS seems to have done a lot of name-changing in recent years. It's now Intec College in South Africa. http://www.intec.edu.za/live/content.php? and I believe it may have gone under that name for a while in Australia. I couldn't find a website but I did see Intec on a few Australian pages - people's CV's etc. Your Government-authorized TAFE seems to be doing a very extensive job of vocational education.

I think the official name in the UK is "ICSLearn" http://www.icslearn.co.uk/ics-community.aspx

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose, n'est-ce pas?

TAFE here can be private or government. Training packages are accredited by a national government system. You can download each authorized package (Award) and then search for Registered Training Organisations (RTO) that deliver them. All RTO's are strictly regulated by government and nobody can sit one up to deliver a training package without being registered.
    Here is the gov website:
    training.gov.au - Search

Yes. I've looked at it on several occasions and I think it's a very good system. It could serve well as a vocational ed. model for other countries.
If it's even half as good as it looks, then it must really help people build good careers.

I know that there are lots of online essay writing services that hire people all the time. As far as I know they only use services from PhD or Masters holders, but you should check, maybe they are willing to hire you as their researcher. By the way, has any of you ever tried out what they offer? I know many students using such company’s' services, but I do not know how sucessful their works are. Anything you know about it? Looking forward to order my term-paper and not sure which online company to choose. Thanx in advance
