    Undifferentiated Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma.......

My wife has a billion in one type of cancer. At least I know the name of it now. It's hard to research because it is so rare.

The good news is that every oncologist in the area, if not the country, will want to be involved in her case. A friend of mine has a very rare disease, and physicians from all over the US were brought in to consult, which I think is a good thing!

And hopefully it will be something that makes you two closer and with an even stronger relationship for the next 30+ years.

    70% 5 year survival rate

What does that mean exactly? Only five years to live?

It might not mean anything. The doctors will let you know when they know.

It means that 70% of people in that situation are still alive five years later.

She is eating a doctor approved (cancer society approved diet) diet and lots of veggies. We are thinking positive. Thanks!

    Update

My wife had a CT scan a few days ago. They found a tumor in one of her lungs, and one on her pelvis. The doc wants to start chemo right away! Seems like a great medical team so far. That's it for now!

I'm sorry about the tumors Abner. It sounds like she's getting good care.

    First round of chemo

Kim had her first round of chemo yesterday. She seems to be tolerating it good so far.

She has a great team of docs working with her. The doc is giving her the most aggresive chemo there is. Kim had her first round of chemo on Friday, then she went wig shopping the next day! It hasn't slowed her down a bit. She is tough! We are very hopeful!

For the sake of accuracy, let me clarify. The found some spots on her lung (I don't think they are tumors), and the pelvis was a false alarm.

We are both positive and upbeat! All we can do is trust in God, and trust in the docs! Modern medicine is amazing.
