It's really not that complicated. Trump immigration policy = concentration camps for hundreds and thousands of children separated from their parents. True, parents are arrested: some for misdemeanor illegal borded crossing, still others detained before their asylum claim can be heard by the DHS judge (in other words, not charged with any crime). This is Trump policy, per both Sessions and Page, designed as a "deterrent". It's on your idol, no matter how you want to paint it.

Look, this nation is enlightened enough to move away from mass orphanages; it's rarely OK to institutialize innocent children. On the simple premise that it is cruel. Now we see children held in repurposed Walmart stores and government requisitioning "tent cities" to hold more. I'm sorry, these might not be "death camps" (praise Almighty!), but they are "concentration camps". Hitler didn't start with gas chambers, either.

Interestingly, it is Vladimir Putin who has a history using his own nations' most vulnerable children as hostages and bargaining chips. Look up the so called "Anti-Magnitsky law" and read up the background of the whole "adoptions" issue that was used as a cover for Trump Jr. / Manafort infamous Trump Tower meeting with the Russian agent. It's not inconceivable Trump got this idea from buddy Vlad, directly or indirectly.

Stanislav, legalized feticide eliminated the need for "mass orphanages." Also, the DNC platform is pushing to retain systemic feticide, which shows they don't genuinely care about the dignity and welfare of human life. It's nothing but a political pawn in the DNC platform.

As for "pro-choice"/"pro-life" debate (both self-applied labels are manipulative, btw): "Pro-Life" camp will have more success when they show a lick of concern about women and gender equality. Abortion is a horrible solution to real problems; "life" side wants to respond by punishing women. Both sides' dogmas prevent serious discussion and sane solutions from being explored.

Not really interested in this debate, especially with you already adding constraints ("contractual" platform? ). Let's just say my statement was tagged "IMHO". I must say though, very few mainstream prolifers seem to be too interested in doing something for women in exchange, you know, for borrowing their bodies. Accessible daycare? Support for pregnant students? End of stigmatizing of single mothers? OTOH, prochoicers seemingly abandoned one leg of Hillary Clinton's old "legal, safe, and RARE" platform. Except for access to contraception, of course, so even there they are ahead of the Rush Limbaugh flock.

• If foreign parents take their children to any official United States border entry-point and ask for asylum, then they are accepted into the country for processing -- and they are not separated from their children.
  
• If foreign parents illegally cross the United States border, then they are arrested and separated from their children (because children cannot legally be incarcerated with criminals).

 

SteveFoerster, all foreigners claiming asylum can freely walk across the border with their children, as long as they go through an official United States port-of-entry. The MSM refuses to inform the public of that fact.

 

That may be what the law says but it's not what is happening. Wake up! Trump is committing moral atrocities and you're just making excuses for him. Even your own church is against this.
