Two interesting programs that are RA master's degrees, recently launched, delivered online plus professional experiential components, designed for the academic preparation of chaplains, open to students from diverse faith traditions, and not holding traditional titles like MDiv:

    AdventHealth University
Master of Science in Spiritual Care

AdventHealth University originated in the hospital-based RN program which began at Florida Hospital in 1913. This evolved into a health sciences university affiliated with the multi-state non-profit AdventHealth hospital and health care system and with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This program is open to students from inside and outside of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The MS in Spiritual Care is 72 semester hours x 670 per sh tuition. The curriculum has an interesting mix of courses on religion including Adventist, Christian, and other world traditions, on health care, and specifically on chaplaincy and on spiritual care in health care. Capstone is a choice between one unit of ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education, or a clinically-based applied research project.

Hartford International University for Religion & Peace
    Master of Arts in Chaplaincy

Hartford International University for Religion and Peace was founded as Hartford Seminary in 1833. Hartford Seminary developed strengths in interfaith studies including Islamic studies, became officially non-denominational, and took its present name in 2021. Hartford International is a member of the Boston Theological Interreligious Consortium and the Chaplaincy Innovation Lab.

The MAC includes "Five Electives selected based upon the student’s interest in pursuing chaplaincy in the fields of Health Care, Prisons, Military, Education, Community, and Third Spaces." There is also an optional concentration in Islamic Chaplaincy.

"Students must complete one full unit of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education. Students accepted to the MAC program must arrange for their CPE in consultation with the program co-directors. Students can substitute one additional unit of CPE as an elective; the additional unit of CPE must be level II or higher."

The MAC is 36 semester hours. Tuition is 892 per credit hour (semester hour) in general, or 449.66 per credit hour for CPE.
