"APUS Grants College Credit For DOCNET Courses

American Public University System will grant undergraduate college credit for students who have successfully completed the Department of Defense Doctrine Networked Education and Training (DOCNET) courses available online to servicemembers and federal government employees.

The series of 31 courses represent key Joint Doctrine publications and feature interactive multimedia presentations. The content for each course is drawn directly from doctrine, without interpretation, and is an authoritative information source for use by United States armed forces personnel and other government professionals who need Joint Doctrine education.

All but one of the 31 courses must be accessed from a .mil or .gov domain or by individuals having password access. Qualified users may access the DOCNET courses at http://www.dtic.mil/doctrine/. The Joint Military Operations Historical Collection course is available to the general public at http://www.dtic.mil/doctrine/historical.htm.

American Public University System will grant one undergraduate semester hour for each successfully completed DOCNET course. Individuals who wish to receive college credit earned for their DOCNET courses must be students at either American Military University or American Public University. There is no admission fee, and once a student, individuals need only mail a copy of their DOCNET Course Completion Certificate to the Admissions Office as part of their transfer credit process in order to receive the credit. APUS does charge a one-time transfer credit evaluation fee ($75) to evaluate and award academic credit from any/all prior academic or military training and experience.

DOCNET course credits may be used to meet AMU or APU undergraduate program course requirements or electives".
