Why are you going for a MATS with all the other theological degrees you have: MDiv, ThM???

    Hi,

The MATS is from an accredited school. The other degrees are not.

I failed to mention that in addition to wanting an accredited theological degree, another reason for studying for the MATS is that I am weak in theology.

My Th.M. is in Biblical Counseling, my M.Div. is in Christian Counseling, and my Ph.D. is in Pastoral Counseling.

It is imperative for me to have a better theological background and today I purchased Norman Geisler's systematic theology volumes to assist this purpose.

I am also rereading J.I. Packers Knowing God.

    ID card

Periodically someone posts to see what degrees from various schools look like.

I think my ID card from Facultad Latinoamericana
de Estudios Teológicos is kind of cool so I have scanned it.

    Update

Haven't updated in some time. Have been suffering from an eye injury that is finally on the mend.

I have a book to read, a paper to write, a unit exam, and a final left to do and I will be finished my first course.

I have learned much and look forward to my next course.

The locksmithing courses are going well also. I am learning much here as well and will be beginning my next unit soon. I have already completed 10 lessons. I am one third finished towards my Basic Certificate and then enter the Advanced Certificate lessons.

    Re: Update

Glad to hear your eye is on the mend. It seems like you are making quick progress on your locksmithing. I used to work out with a guy who made a lot of money as a locksmith. Let's put it this way, every six months he would vacation in Acapulco for three weeks! Sometimes even four weeks!

Sounds like FLET is going well also.

    Take care,

    Abner

    Re: Re: Update

    Thanks Abner,

I never experienced anything quite like my problem with my eye. I got something in it, evidently rubbed it and caused the cornea to tear which caused an infection, cyst, ulcer, and nearly two month's of pain. Of course, we have been told from day one to never rub our eyes.

Sounds like your friend makes good money. I have seen so many auto lockouts at the malls, Wal Mart, etc., that I think I could make some good extra money.

FLET is wonderful! It is very challenging.

    Hi Jimmy

    Locksmith and theologian: metaphoric!

Hey Bill( Umm ok Dr Grover!)

Are you gonna ever publish your dissertation? I am sure it will be a great read. Good luck to you.

    Hi Michael

You are kind. Hope to get some revamped portions into journals soon to test the literary waters. I recently read a paper related to the dissertational research at The NW meeting of The Evangelical Theological Society in Portland and also taught a half day on my subject to seminarians in Sacramento. So, I'm getting a little mileage out of it.

Still ,as things are a little slow, I'm going to have to take up a second occupation like Jimmy's locksmithing. Hmmm...always wanted to be a life guard...wow...talk about metaphoric:D

Let's hope I am a better locksmith than a theologian.

Never thought about it metaphorically but very good, Bill, very good. There is after all a lot to unlock, isn't there?

My proctor mailed my final exam today. I now await the grades of the paper and the final.

I think I did very well on the final. The paper is another story. I hate writing papers and my vision is getting more myopic each and every year.

    Bifocals are a real pain!

Or maybe to lock up as well ... you could fashion the lock for Satan's confinement in the lower world.

    Now on second course

Still no grade yet on my paper and final. But, I have begun my second course, Systematic Theology 503.

I have to say that I am so thoroughly pleased with FLET that I hope after I graduate they will begin admitting more non-Hispanic students.

FLET has been so accommodating in the translation of study materials, answering emails, phone calls, and letters. I have never waited more than a day or two for any response!

The faculty and other personnel are about as nice and polite as any I have experienced anywhere--B&M or DL, unaccredited or accredited.

I highly recommend FLET if they begin admitting more non-Hispanics.
