There really isn't an RA vs. NA "battle." Just differences and denial. Sadly, the denial actually hurts the cause of the deniers, turning into black-and-white what should be a phenomenon with many shades of grey.

It's black-and-white when it's written semi-government policy. Or it should be.

One way some members of my community dealt with the NA vs RA issue is via what is called Externat contract.

Number of respected Universities in the world accept NA credit, and based on some additional work award a fully recognized degree.

Once such university is Moscow State University MGUP - of Printing Arts.
    - No they don't print beautiful diplomas :). A real B&M fully accredited University established in 1930.
They accept US NA degree or NA credit without questioning and also allow via their representation here in NYC to complete a degree. I think one has to take a limited # of classes at US universities such as NYU.
The awarded is National Standard Degree Diploma and transcript.

Here is a 3D tour of university

There are number of others I'm told.

Well, those are two different sentiments along the same scale. First, you reduce the issue to a specific situation (government). (In doing so, you prove the larger point about the differences between the two forms of accreditation, by the way.)

The second is aspirational, yet expressed within the first's limited context.

I seldom engage in the second one, especially on a grand scale. But the first remains obvious: there are limitations that may or may not affect you in using a degree from a nationally accredited school.

The saga is officially over. As of yesterday, my friend is officially registered and can use the RECE designation.

I guess it is a victory for NA degrees, but at a price of a lot of grief and time. Time is, in this case, money - as only RECEs can advance in pay rate in her Collective Agreement.
