Has anyone signed up for credit Karma? I guess they provide credit reports free! I just signed up but haven't used it yet because I had to mail in two forms of ID to prove my identity.

Yup, I've been using them for a while now, signed up last year. They provide monthly updates to your Credit Report free. I recall their report is a lot different than the ones from by Equifax or Transunion. My Credit Karma report is usually "better" or "higher". I assume they grab the dat from both Equifax and Transunion and maybe "give an average".

Yes, I use them. So far they've been very helpful.

How do their scores compare with myfico?

Last I knew, the majority of creditors used the myfico score as the definitive authoritative credit rating.

Also, in case some might not know, from annualcreditreport.com you get 1 free credit report- no score, just the facts- from each bureau per year with no sign up needed.

I am going to fax Credit Karma a copy of my driver's license and a copy of my social security card. Should i mark over the social security number except for the last four digits?

I don't have that answer for you, specifically, because I'm not sure of the policies and procedures. However, to get your credit history from any of the bureaus, they'd have to have your full SSN anyway, so I don't see the reason to hide it.

I don't remember having to do that, BTW.

I screwed up on some answer they asked me to confirm my identity, so as a precaution, they need me to fax in identity documents.
