Does anyone have any experience transfering corporate training for college credits? Evidentally it is possible. These folks do the evaluating/recommendation to colleges. I always wondered how the USDA Graduate School (unaccredited) could operate after the government reports which have basically blasted non-accredited distance education programs. Apparently through a combination of cavetas on their website and use of this outfit's services, they maintain a certain amount of credibility. I must say that I have taken two USDA GS courses (they're also open to non-government folks and they even advertize in Atlantic Monthly magazine). While I have not attempted to convert them to college credit courses, I do feel the courses (one in statistics and one in scientific writing) were worthwhile and comparable to my RA distance ed courses. http://www.acenet.edu/clll/corporate/participating_orgs.cfm
The USDAGS doesn't grant degrees, hence, there is nothing to "accredit". ACE independently evaluates courses and recommends what kind/how much credit should be awarded. It is then up to the individual school you are applying to whether or not they choose to accept ACE credits. As far as I heard, I've never known an RA school to reject ACE credits.
