I have finished my first two classes at CSU and now feel like I can give my somewhat informed opinion of this institution.

The format is Blackboard - never liked BB but it gets the job done.

The classes are 8 weeks, no surprises there either.

The orientation class was overkill IMHO. It was 4 weeks, has weekly assessments (aka tests/quizs) and a damn research paper requirement. This particular class needs to be two weeks and focus on helping students get around the university resources, blackboard, the website, and policy review. This was a god damn English class! Many were not happy :(

    Rant over on that one.

The actual class was GREAT. This professor was interactive, confident, informative, and fair.

The content was totally focused on the subject, which is why I choose this type of program in he first place. The school's student services (for me) was similar to Charter Oak State College - AKA: great! When I had a question or needed something they were VERY fast to answer and supply info. They are also very nice over the phone and send weekly reminders of class milestones.

As a "former" RA snob :smashfreakB: I was hesitant to attend a NA school for reasons discussed in an earlier thread but not anymore. I am impressed with how they are handling the classes, students, and me! Again, the course content and how it was taught, assessed, and tested was key to this favorable opinion.

They (CSU) are very active in the community where their new offices are and support many military, police, sheriff, government, EMS and fire organizations ( with their positive endorsements). They have also expanded into the corporate sector, they are growing too by adding another large facility.

And best of all I learned something.

CSU has grown from it's early childhood days into a fine adult - I am so glad I went with them. :laugh2:
