Are we talking possible President/VP combinations?

    I predict a Clinton (P) - Obama (VP) team

"The longest and loudest applause line of the night came when CNN's Wolf Blitzer noted that many Democrats have said they'd like to see a Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton ticket in November. Neither ruled out the possibility of selecting the other as a running mate."

I believe that Mike Gravel should have been allowed to debate with Obama and Clinton. Regardless of his meeting any "criteria", he is a presidential candidate."Mike Gravel, the other Democratic presidential candidate still in the race, was not invited to participate in the debate because he did not meet certain criteria, including support in national polls."

Personally, I reject the premise. I don't think Romney will run with McCain, nor would McCain run with Romney. McCain is going to need a real conservative, not a recently reformed one, to run with. (Brownback?) But what would be cool would be McCain/Hagel. Those two could do something strange for Republicans: actually run the government according to the wishes of the American people. Shocker!

I also question the Obama/Clinton possibility. I could see Obama running as the veep nominee with Clinton, I wonder why she would give up her more-advanced Senate career for the same role. (Her power will soon be second only to Kennedy's, and he won't stick around forever.) For him, the veep would be a stepping stone. For her, at her age, the veep would be the end.

I'd like to see Obama/Edwards, though. Visionary, smart, and willing to adapt to change. Very cool.

I agree completely. A position as vice president will be a good experience for Obama. This is definitely change. Clinton as the first women president and Obama as the first black vice president. That is cool indeed. If Hillary is elected,
Bill Clinton would be the first man. Also, a VP family line would continue. Cheney and Obama are distant cousins.

I like the idea of a McCain/Hagel ticket. But how about a McCain/Christine Todd Whitman ticket. Steal some of the "women for Clinton" votors.

I don't thinka Clinton/Obama ticket will surface -too radical at this date. But if Clinton wins could Obama become Attorny General?

Generally speaking, the Attorney General spot tends to go to people connected personally to the incoming president. I doubt Obama (or Edwards) will meet that criterion.

An interesting take on this I read: Clinton won't run as Obama's veep because she's already had that role as Bill Clinton's unofficial veep.
