    Hi,
This is my second post....I am preparing for clep chemistry and I have a doubt.

I know that we r given calculator and periodic table in the test...I had a question whether the periodic table consists of the atomic nos and atomic wts or do we need to memorize them.

I know my qs is kinda stupid but someone who has given the test pl help.

    Help will b appreciated.

    Please help somebody.

    Thanks.

Have not taken the test myself, but try this...
    1) Go to the clep test center and ask them if you can sit for the practice test. Then you can see for yourself. If space is available you can sample it for yourself.
    2) Ask them if the periodic table is on-screen or a handout. I really do beleive that the table will have all the info you need. But if it will provide you assurance, ask or see the test center.
    Good luck

  3. From the collegeboard.com site for the Chemistry exam:

"During this examination, both a calculator function and a periodic table are available to candidates as part of the testing software."

I would assume that everything you need is going to be part of the software. It's unlikely that you'd need to memorize the atomic weights. Also, I find it extremely unlikely that they would provide the WHOLE periodic table - probably just the subset you need to answer the questions.

    Cheers,
    Mark
